Celebrate Squirrel Appreciation Day – January 21

| |

Starting back in 2001 by wildlife rehabilitator Christy Hargrove of Asheville, North Carolina, January 21 marks Squirrel Appreciation day each year.  Hargrove figured that the middle of winter marked a time when nuts and other food sources were running low: “Celebration of the event itself is up to the individual or group — anything from putting out extra food for the squirrels to learning something new about the species.”

So, in celebration of Squirrel Appreciation Day, I present you a few photos of squirrels being oh so cute while eating.
