Michael Pernam, a 14 year old student from London skipped school to become the youngest person to sail solo across the Atlantic Ocean.  The lad spent the past six weeks crossing 3,500 miles of water to reach his destination in Antigua.  Michael arrived a day late today at his destination which was followed around the world by visitors to his website who were able to track his progress via GPS.  The prior record was held by a 15 year-old, Sebastian Clover who made the journey from Spain’s Canary Islands to Antigua in January of 2003.
