Esri has launched a hub that will serve as the collection point for free remote sensing and imagery materials. The purpose of the hub is to help with the development of university-level instructional aids for introductory remote sensing and imagery classes.
The first materials on the hub are focused on hands-on learning labs as well as slide decks that introduce fundamental imagery and remote sensing concepts.
More materials will be added to the hub over the coming months. In the meantime, the available materials are:
- Section 1 – Discovering Imagery
- Understanding imagery fundamentals
- Selecting and accessing the right imagery
- Section 2 – Working With Imagery
- Introducing imagery workflows
- Preparing and rendering imagery
- Adjusting image geometry
- Section 3 – Extracting Information From Imagery
- Image classification
- Analyzing change
- Applying deep learning to imagery
- Thematic accuracy assessment
- Section 4 – Working with Elevation and Time
- Digital elevations models
- Lidar and 3D visualization
- Working with drone data
- Multidimensional and temporal data
- Section 5 – Leveraging the Power of GIS
- Raster modeling
- Sharing your results online
